In 2010-11, through the Hitmen Booster Club, I started designing the Hitmen Hockey cards for the team. The Hitmen made a fantastic Memorial Cup run in 2009-10, winning the WHL championship. But the next season, they went from the top of the league, to the bottom of the league, not making the playoffs for the first time in many years. After this post-Memorial Cup "crash", the previous sponsors of the hockey cards dropped the hockey cards. So I took it upon myself to ensure that the Hitmen players would continue to have hockey cards during their junior careers. After all, for those who hockey careers end here, this will be the last hockey card of themselves these players will likely ever see. |
